Object
Research activities for the recovery of the textile fraction from ELT treatment.
Description
The study will be divided into two main strands:
– PHASE 1: Identification of the main technologies currently available for the recovery of the textile fraction from ELTs treatment and their evaluation through LCA methodology. The activity includes a screening LCA study to compare possible recovery scenarios on the basis of the latest available literature data.
The purpose of the study is to provide an initial assessment of the possible alternatives, to identify those that deserve more attention and can be the subject of a more in-depth LCA study in the future.
– STEP 2: Regulatory framework of the authorisation procedures required to obtain material that has ceased to be waste and is therefore classifiable as EoW (End of Waste) material that can be freely used.
This second phase will examine, in particular, the applicable regulations deriving from Part Four of Legislative Decree 152/2006 and subsequent amendments and additions, as well as the procedures identified with the guidelines for the application of the End of Waste discipline referred to in Article 184 ter paragraph 3 ter of Legislative Decree 152/2006 published by the SNPA Revision January 2022.
Result
Identify the technological alternative with the lowest environmental impact, as also indicated by the Waste Framework Directive.
